Ingredients
  

  • 6-8 oz sushi-grade salmon
  • 1 cup sushi rice uncooked
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Nori seaweed sheets optional
  • Soy sauce
  • Wasabi
  • Pickled ginger Gari
  • Sesame seeds
  • Green onions or chives
  • Spicy mayo optional

Instructions
 

Prepare the Sushi Rice

  • Rinse rice until water runs clear, then cook as per instructions.
  • Heat rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved, then mix into cooked rice. Let cool.

Slice the Salmon

  • Use a sharp knife for clean cuts.
  • For nigiri, slice into thin, even pieces.
  • For sushi rolls, cut into thin strips.

Assemble the Sushi

  • Nigiri: Shape rice into ovals, place salmon on top, and press gently.
  • Maki Rolls: Spread rice on nori, add salmon and fillings, roll tightly, and slice.

Garnish & Serve

  • Drizzle spicy mayo or sprinkle sesame seeds.
  • Serve with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger.
